Get through this Valentine's Day
Get through this Valentine's Day

So, Valentine's Day is almost here. That means a lovely week of watching your friends get all sorts of heart-shaped, stuffed, and chocolaty gifts while you complain about not having a boyfriend. Don't worry though, love. I've created a full list of three great love stories to help you get past Tuesday (and possibly Friday, if you're school is gut-wrenchingly romantic like mine). In no particular order:

The Iron King- Julie Kagawa

If you're like me and you enjoy a little bit of fantasy with your romance, this book will be perfect for you. Think Alice in Wonderland all grown up with a handsome prince and a trickster best friend. Oh, how will she choose? It's a close competition but I'm happy to say that my favorite boy won. I won't tell you who he is, though- that's something you'll have to figure out on your own!

Shiver- Maggie Stiefvater

I love this book! The title's no accident, either- it literally gave me shivers when Grace kissed....but alas, I've said too much. This is the kind of wintertime love story that makes you want to cuddle up in someone's arms. It's set in the small town of Mercy Falls, where books are an escape for Grace and the woods hide a furry secret. I should probably also mention that it involves a cute boy with gorgeous eyes.

City of Bones- Cassandra Clare

If you haven't already read this book, I'm going to assume that you either live under a bridge (hobo!) or think the cover is a little freaky. Which it is. However, that is no reason not to give it a chance. I promise you, five pages is all it takes to get sucked into the Clary's world of Shadow Hunters- light warriors that protect the Earth from demons. Not to mention, this one also involves a hot guy by the name of Jace, which has to be the sexiest name ever created. AND, the antagonist's name is Valentine- how perfectly ironic is that?
